Apprenticeship
The United Association has the first nationally
registered joint apprenticeship program in the United
States---60 years and growing! Our apprenticeship program
has one goal---to ensure every job done by our members is
Done Once. Done Right.
All apprentices receive instruction in basic math and
blueprint reading, with health and safety emphasized
throughout the program.
Apprentice wages are based on a percentage of the journeyman
rate, and is spelled out in each apprentice agreement. Other
benefits include health care insurance, UA Pension and
college credits toward degree programs at some Rhode Island
colleges and through the UA International Training and
Education Program.
