COVID19 STATE BENEFIT INFORMATION - (3/27/2020)
Unemployment & Temporary Disability Insurance is available for employees out of work. Please read the following information pertaining to the available options provided by the state:
1 TDI: Quarantined workers who are otherwise healthy as well as those diagnosed with COVID-
19 are entitled to collect temporary disability benefits on an expedited basis and the seven (7)
day waiting period is waived. TDI is tax free (as opposed to unemployment benefits which are
taxable). You may apply online.
2. TCI: Four (4) weeks of TCI is now available to employees caring for their children whose
schools or day care facilities have closed due to COVID-19 as well as to employees who are out
of work to care for ill family members. You may apply online.
3. Unemployment Benefits: If an employee's place of work has been shut down or if remote work
is all that is available and the employee is unable to telework, the employee is eligible for
unemployment benefits. Also, the seven (7) day waiting period for unemployment benefits has
been waived. You may apply online.
