Local 51 Mentors High School Student - (2/21/2014)

Pictured below between Local 51 welding instructor Al Caron and Training Instructor Dave Marland is Cameron Healy from Warwick R.I. Cameron is currently a student at Pilgrim High School and attends the Voc Tech at Toll Gate High School. As part of Cameron's senior year he was required to do a senior project on a specific job. This included finding a mentor, learning about the job, and writing a paper about it.

Cameron's mother is a Warwick teacher and recommended he reach out to the trade unions. He chose the welding profession as his job choice. Dave Marland was Cameron's mentor and with Al Caron's help covered such topics as safety and the history of welding. Cameron was given the oppurtunity to try different types of welding including stick and tig.

We here at Local 51 would like to wish Cameron a successful final year in High School. Once again good luck in the future Cameron.
